Inviting guests helps you promote your event and reach people who are already connected to you, your communities, or your past events.
On Buzzable, you can invite guests from several contact sources, including phone contacts, uploaded personal lists, community member lists, and event attendee lists.
Invited guests appear in the Guests tab of the Event Dashboard.
Where to invite guests
You can invite guests from the Event Dashboard.
There are two places to find the invite option:
- Go to the Overview tab and click Invite.
- Go to the Guests tab and click Invite.
Both options open the invite modal.
Invite list types
The invite modal includes four types of contact lists:
Phone Contacts
Phone Contacts include phone numbers and email addresses that you have synced from your phone.
Use this option when you want to invite people directly from your saved contacts.
Personal Lists
Personal Lists are contact lists you create by uploading a spreadsheet of contacts.
You can name these lists however you want.
Examples:
- Newsletter Subscribers
- Past Meetup Guests
- VIP Contacts
- Local Partners
- Student Group Members
Personal Lists are useful when you already have an audience outside Buzzable and want to invite them to your event.
Community Lists
Community Lists include members from communities you host.
Use this option when you want to invite members of one of your communities to attend an event.
This is especially useful when the event is connected to a community, because those members are already part of the audience you are building.
Events Lists
Events Lists include attendees from current and past events that you host or have hosted.
Use this option when you want to invite past attendees to a new event.
For example, if someone attended one of your previous events, they may be interested in attending another event from the same host or community.
Send invitations
After selecting a list, choose the contacts you want to invite.
You can send invitations by:
- Text message
The email and text invitations are for the selected event only.
Once invitations are sent, invitees will be listed in the Guests tab on the Event Dashboard.
Why inviting guests matters
Inviting guests helps your event reach people who are more likely to be interested.
Instead of promoting only to a general audience, you can invite people who already have a connection to your community, your events, or your previous activity on Buzzable.
This can help you:
